The first week of the NFL preseason is over and now it’s time to prepare for Week 2. It’s another opportunity for coaches to asses players as they try to work their way up the depth chart or find a spot within the 53-man roster. The first big round of cuts won’t come until after week 3 games for most games.

In their first game against the New Orleans Saints, the Ravens found the win late, but in preseason that doesn’t matter. What matters is evaluating how players played on an individual level and as a unit.

Week 1 didn’t see Joe Flacco on the field long in order for the Ravens to see more of quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Brynn Renner battle it out. This isn’t a shock to not see much from a starting quarterback who is the clear starter, but this week the Ravens should have Flacco take more snaps.

Overall, the Ravens are facing a talented team in the Eagles. One of the reasons the Eagles are a team to watch this year is due to their depth at many positions on the roster. Their match against the Colts showed that Chip Kelly’s vision is playing out well in his third year as head coach. The loss of some stars in the offseason and comments that he’s a “racist” from former players didn’t appear to phase him or the team in their performance. Multiple rookies stepped up and showed their worth as three different quarterbacks saw the field.

As the Ravens and Eagles prepare to face-off in Philadelphia on Saturday at 7:00 pm, both teams will participate together in a joint practice from Wednesday-Friday. Both teams have things to address and fix before their second preseason match despite their impressive performances and these practices against each other will help both sides. Check out three things to watch for against the Eagles.
