Quarterback Peyton Manning shows no ill-effects from last season’s quad injury that affected his play late in the year and in the postseason.

Consider the numbers that the NFL’s all-time leader in touchdown passes has put up in three seasons with the Broncos. He’s thrown for 121 scores – two or more touchdown passes in 39-of-48 regular-season games – and totaled 300-plus passing yards in 28 of those 48 contests.

This past season, Manning threw 39 touchdown passes: 22 to wide receivers, 14 to tight ends and three to running backs). As we found out later, the veteran signal-caller was dealing with an injured quad and his performance down the stretch indicated he was less than 100 percent. Manning was picked off two or more times in five of his last nine regular-season outings, this after throwing 2-plus interceptions in just five of his first 39 regular-season games with the franchise.

The team still has weapons in wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, both who totaled 100-plus catches in 2014, while veteran tight end Owen Daniels replaces free-agent departee Julius Thomas. And Cody Latimer hopes to fill the void left by the absence of Wes Welker.
