Brandon Marshall Is Healthy And Looks Good

After sitting out the final two games of last season before making an appearance in the Broncos divisional round loss to the Colts in the playoffs, Brandon Marshall was forced to have two screws surgically implanted in his foot.

Marshall is still reportedly sore and will have to keep the screws in his foot for the entire season to insure proper healing, but he didn’t look any worse-for-the-wear Saturday in racking up three tackles (all solo), and three passes defended in just one quarter of action.

What was more impressive was the fashion in how Marshall accrued those stats.

Marshall looked explosive, dynamic and — as always — brought a passion to a defense that (if all stay healthy) should be among the best in the NFL this season.

As the Broncos defense embarks on their first season under forty-year coaching veteran Wade Phillips with his newly implemented 3-4 set and aggressive style — Marshall should fit right in — and apparently is already beginning to feel right at home.

“I felt good,” Marshall told Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post. “Obviously you want to improve on everything or some things each week. I thought I could have played against the run a little better, but I thought I did well against the pass. I just want to keep getting better, and as my foot keeps feeling better, I think I’ll play better.”

Expect a big year out of the fourth-year linebacker who led the team with 112 tackles in just 14 games played last year.
