For the second straight week, Tim Tebow saw about a quarter of playing time. He also took over after Matt Barkley saw time, which would logically put Tebow as the fourth string quarterback. However, Tebow offers something that Barkley can’t by the way he can run out of the pocket and find positive yards up the field.

Tebow’s passing wasn’t on the mark for most of the game, but he still showed he can find the open target. He did miss the open target when it wasn’t his first look, but that comes with more reps and it’s something he should see more of this preseason.

On the other hand, Tebow’s rushing is the reason why he is on the roster and his best chance of making the Eagles’ 53-man roster. While Bradford and Mark Sanchez are strong with their arms, Tebow can easily get out of the pocket as long as he does it in a timely manner. He showed it twice during his time against the Eagles. The first time he found space for a nice 26-yard run. The second time he ran towards the goal line on the left side and appeared to have scored, but the replay official overturned the original four-yard touchdown run and the ball was placed at the one.

All in all, Tebow showed his worth and what he can do on both the rush and through the air. He needs to work on finding more than just his first target, but that will come with reps during games with the real pace the offense is moving at.
