If

Quarterback Alex Smith can take advantage of all of his offensive weapons, something that appeared to be a problem in 2014. Then again, perhaps the performers themselves weren’t up to snuff.

As we know, quarterback Alex Smith threw 18 touchdown passes a year ago and none went to a wide receiver. Now the likes of Dwayne Bowe, Donnie Avery and A.J. Jenkins are no longer with the franchise. It’s also worth noting that the Chiefs released tight end Anthony Fasano this offseason.

Smith’s 18 scores in 2014 went to tight end Travis Kelce (5), running back Jamaal Charles (5), Fasano (4) and running backs Joe McKight (2), Knile Davis (1) and Anthony Sherman (1). In the middle of last season, Andy Reid added old friend Jason Avant and this offseason, signed Philadelphia Eagles wideout Jeremy Maclin to a hefty deal. The team also likes what he they see from wide receiver Albert Wilson.

The odds are that Maclin, Avant and/or Wilson will be find the end zone this year. It’s just a matter of how many times and more importantly with Smith, he needs to continue to limit those turnovers.
