1. Wide Receiver Willie Snead will make the team

Of course there’s no sure thing in the NFL when it comes to player cuts but second-year wide receiver Willie Snead has been playing too well not to consider him almost a lock for the #4 wide receiver spot at this point, in my opinion. Brandon Coleman was on the field early in the game and he will likely end up as the #3 wide receiver.

Josh Morgan and Joe Morgan weren’t targeted a lot and even when the ball when went their way they did not impress. Same goes for Sentavious Jones, who did not show enough improvement from year one to be considered a contender for that spot.

Snead caught 8 of the 11 passes thrown his way in preseason games for 117 yards, 49 of those came after the catch. The 5’11, 195-pounder could be a Lance Moore 2.0 for the New Orleans Saints: they are similar not only in size but also in route running ability – although Snead still has room for improvement. He’s not a field-stretcher like Cooks but he has shown his value when the ball travels the middle of the field. The Saints could really use a quick player like him from the slot.
