No position is more difficult to draft in fantasy football than tight end. The drop-off from the top-of-the-line contributors to the second-tier pass-catchers is absolutely massive.
If you fail to draft a tight end in the first six or seven rounds, don’t sleep on Delanie Walker as an emergency plan.
Walker had a very productive 2014, recording 60-plus receptions for nearly 900 yards. He ranked No. 9 amongst tight ends in receptions and No. 4 in receiving yards.
Walker shouldn’t be an early-round selection, but in point-per-reception leagues, he’s a diamond in the rough.
Marcus Mariota will be trusted to lead the Tennessee Titans into the future, and that’s both a good and bad thing. Tennessee has its man under center, but it doesn’t know what to expect from the first-year field general.
When things go awry, expect Mariota to turn to Walker—not-so-arguably the top receiver on the roster.
