Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett

Just as Ameer Abdullah is a fully legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate, so too is Tyler Lockett, based on all of the big plays he made this preseason as both a returner and a receiver. Even though he’s expected to make a bigger impact on special teams, he’s likely too brilliant of a route-runner and too quick and shifty to avoid using on offense. Paul Richardson’s spell on the PUP will also create a bigger opportunity for Lockett to shine.

At worst, he should be behind Jimmy Graham and the dependable Doug Baldwin on the Seahawks target totem pole with the upside for so much more. The Seahawks defense is obviously scary and one of the best units in recent memory, but the offense could also be quite terrific in its own right if Lockett can make good on his preseason work and emerge as an OROY candidate.
