Other Factors:

With all the turmoil surrounding the Patriots, they will be excited to get back on the field so that people can start talking about their football instead of the off the field issues. I think Brady will play with a chip on his shoulder this year, and if you remember the last time the Patriots emerged from a scandal they went 18-1. The Patriots also simply don’t lose at home against AFC opponents and won’t begin now. The Patriots often do start their seasons slow, but they will be prepared for the opener because Bill Belichick is probably the best at keeping off the field issues off the field.

The Steelers on the other hand are coming into a hostile territory a day after the Patriots reveal their Super Bowl banner. The Patriots also have the edge on special teams, as they have one of the best kickers in the NFL with Gostkowski. Rain could also be a factor during tomorrow’s game which could hurt both teams passing attacks, but the Patriots are used to the weather at Gillette giving them another small advantage.

Advantage: New England Patriots ( 4-2 Patriots)
