Dion Lewis, New England Patriots
The New England Patriots may have found their newest secret weapon in running back Dion Lewis. The former Pittsburgh Panthers star was a spark plug during Week 1, providing a bit of everything for Bill Belichick’s crew.
Lewis finished with 15 carries for 69 yards and four receptions for another 51.
Those aren’t extraordinary numbers, but it was a telling display of Lewis’ versatility. He can catch passes out of the backfield, run between the tackles and create in space.
If nothing else, Lewis could take Shane Vereen‘s place as the Patriots’ pass-catching running back and third-down specialist.
In either event, Lewis is worth adding to your fantasy football roster. He has a high ceiling due to the uncertainty surrounding New England’s depth chart and the variety of ways in which he can contribute.
Lewis shouldn’t be locked in as a starter, but he should be considered an option moving forward.
