4) The Minnesota Vikings secondary must limit San Francisco 49ers receivers

If you aren’t on the bandwagon for the Minnesota Vikings secondary, then you should hurry up and sit down next to me.

With players like Xavier Rhodes, Terence Newman, Harrison Smith, and Trae Waynes manning the secondary, the Vikings are among the more formidable units in the NFL.

I fully expect all of the primary secondary players to step up in this game and limit the San Francisco 49ers receivers.

Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith are formidable targets capable of putting 1000 yards up each season. Colin Kaepernick can also throw it out to running back Reggie Bush or tight end Vernon Davis, among others.

The 49ers can be tough to cover when on top of their game, so the Vikings secondary will likely have their hands full on Monday. I’m confident they can step up and limit the receivers, however. Rhodes and Newman are capable of covering some of the best in the business and with guys like Waynes and Captain Munnerlyn able to cover the slot and other receivers in 3+ sets, the team should be able to step up.

Munnerlyn in particular seems to be relishing the opportunity to talk some trash with the 49ers receivers. That kind of attitude instills confidence heading into the game.
