2. DeMarco Murray will not rush past the Cowboys’ defense

Don’t get me wrong, Cowboys fans will always have special memories of last season and the NFL-high 1,845 yards Murray rushed for when he was named the Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year, while the Cowboys won the NFC East and went to the playoffs.

But on Sunday, he won’t be playing with the best offensive line in the NFL, and coming off his 9-yard overall performance (eight carries) on his debut with the Eagles last week he might be realizing that, crashing to reality a bit after that performance. Murray averaged 1.1 yards per carry last week.

I’m not saying he won’t have some good runs and even more yards than his disaster last week, but he will not rush for 100 yards against the Cowboys … heck, I’ll go as far as saying he’ll finish with 60-65 yards on the ground, with one score.

Remember, though, Murray did have four receptions for 11 yards and one touchdown reception against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.

Those are pretty solid numbers for most running backs, but you know Murray wants to have triple digits and multiple scores against his former teammates, no matter what he does and doesn’t say. We all know and understand Murray will be playing with some extra motivation, but who is to say the defense of the Cowboys isn’t either, especially the players replacing Randy Gregory who is out for the next month or more.

After Sunday, I’ll go back to remembering the good times with Murray, but on Sunday … not so much.
