A bit of a sleeper prospect right now in the draft community, NC State quarterback Jacoby Brissett is a guy to keep an eye on. Brissett is a naturally gifted player who shows a nice combination of size (6-foot-3, 235 pounds) arm strength and athleticism.

Brissett is a natural athlete with the ball in his hands, and uses his speed well to make plays. Brissett shows great ability to keep the play alive while keeping his eyes downfield, and his natural talent of throwing on the run is impressive.
Mobility a strong part in Brissett’s game, but he can make plays from the pocket as well. He has a quick release and good pocket awareness. His accuracy could use some work, but it is not terrible and flashes signs of being great. Brissett also shows great leadership qualities.
Along with improved accuracy, Brissett needs to improve his ability to read defenses. NC State’s offense allows for many quick and easy decisions for Brissett to make. He does them efficiently and effectively, but it would be nice to see him go through progressions on a more consistent basis. As we stand right now, his ability to read defenses is probably the biggest question on Brissett’s record.
However, that is common with young quarterbacks, especially in today’s college football filled with spread offenses. Brissett may be able to read defenses very well, but he simply has not been allowed to show it. That is not necessarily his fault.
When it comes to tools, Brissett has it all. He would likely be a bit of a development project, but allowing a strong NFL coaching staff to get their hands on Brissett could easily result in a strong starter at the next level. He is certainly a player to keep an eye on.
