Similar to Hackenberg, Cardale Jones has truly elite upside, even though he has not always shown it at the college level. That being said, he did lead Ohio State to a National Championship last season, after not seeing any playing time until the Big Ten Championship Game. Jones’ play down the stretch was truly incredible, and he proved himself to be an elite NFL quarterback prospect.

When it comes to skills, Jones literally has it all. Huge arm, great mobility, amazing size (6-foot-5, 250 pounds), physical running style, great touch on his passes and the list goes on and on. When it comes to a physical skill-set, Jones is elite.

With his great size, mobility and arm talent, the comparison to former first round pick Cam Newton is obvious. Jones also bring a similar winning attitude that Newton brought to the NFL.

Jones throws a truly elite deep ball that he has learned to place well. He does however, need to work on his accuracy in short to intermediate passes, and his ability to read defenses. Jones rarely fully progresses through his receivers on routes, but that may have something to do with Urban Meyer’s quick decision offense. One-read throws have been the norm with Jones, and that simply will not fly in the NFL.

His upside is incredibly intriguing, and while his lack of playing time will cause some concerns, Jones can be a star at the next level. His 2015 season will be huge for his progression, as has a lot to prove. If he enters, Jones is seemingly a guaranteed first-round pick, and certainly gets first overall consideration.
