Offense

Eli Manning and the offense wasn’t “unstoppable,” but it did exactly what it needed to do to get the victory at home.

Manning finished the game 23/32, throwing for 272 yards and two touchdowns, and he never really put the ball in harm’s way, except for one pass that Larry Donnell tripped on. “Easy E” was efficient, fluid and most importantly, smart.

“The New Sensation” Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle combined for 14 receptions — seven for each, respectively. OBJ hauled in an impressive touchdown grab, reaching out and corralling the ball with both hands.

Randle, who has been the center of criticism due to him being a non-factor in the team’s first two games, finished the night with 116 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown came on a wacky, tip-drill play. But if Manning can have oh-so many passes intercepted by way of tipped balls, it’s only fair that he can get some touchdowns the same way.

OBJ wasn’t used thrown to too often, as he was used as a decoy in some situations. However, with the touchdown he snagged, he became the fastest player to ever reach 15 touchdowns. Yeah, this guy is good.

Seriously, the guy is an unbelievable athlete, he has incredible instincts, he has vice-grip hands and you can’t teach that.

Beckham’s teammate had a nice outing, and it was refreshing to see Randle finally have a good game after being dormant for so long. The LSU boys toasted Bashuad Breeland — who some smack leading up to the game — as both of their touchdowns came against number 26.

Manning was not sacked once, and the re-tooled offensive line — playing sans Ereck Flowers — played very well against an impressive Washington front seven. And for you stat-heads (or Eli supporters), Manning has made it through the first three games without throwing a single interception for the first time in his career.

In regard to the run game, it was the same story: The unit was effective when it counted, but it didn’t carry the team. The downhill dyad of Jennings and Andre Williams combined for 61 yards. Shane Vereen didn’t do anything too noteworthy, but the best receiving back in the NFC had another solid outing.

Larry Donnell had a rough night, dropping an easy, easy — even Preston Parker might have caught this one — pass and he also did a front flip for no apparent reason.

So the offense looked good, and oh, Victor Cruz is likely to make his debut next week. So essentially, the dangerous offense gets even more potent.

All in all, it was a good performance by Big Blue’s offense.
