The Minnesota Vikings (1-1) take on the San Diego Chargers (1-1) in Minnesota on Sunday, hoping to begin a series of wins that keeps the team in contention in a tight NFC North division. With the playoffs as a serious goal, the Vikings can’t afford to fall behind the Green Bay Packers (2-0) and Detroit Lions (0-2) in 2015.

Teddy Bridgewater, Adrian Peterson, Harrison Smith, Sharrif Floyd, and all the other key players have to step up in a game that could really help establish the Vikings as a true contender.

Entering the game against the Chargers, the Vikings will have plenty of different facets to focus on. From running back Melvin Gordon to quarterback Philip Rivers to safety Eric Weddle, the Chargers are a contender each and every year. Even on bad years, like 2014, they are still a dangerous team. This will be a great measuring stick for the Vikings.

There are four steps that the Minnesota Vikings should follow in order to knock the San Diego Chargers off. We’ll address all of them in the following pages.
