At this point it appears to be obvious. The Chicago Bears’ rebuild is in full affect. On Monday, the Bears made a couple of trades that clearly points to the team emptying cupboard from the former regime. First, in sending veteran pass rusher Jared Allen to the Carolina Panthers, and later trading talented linebacker Jonathan Bostic to the New England Patriots. The Bears received 2016 sixth round picks from both teams.

The two moves were the latest in new general manager Ryan Pace’s attempt to rebuild this roster essentially from scratch. His predecessor Phil Emery left the Bears’ roster severely lacking in both talent and depth. Pace and his staff know that they have a huge job ahead of them, and are looking to get ahead of the game by rebuilding early into this season.

After an ugly 0-3 start where many are considering the Bears to be the worst team in the NFL, I do not blame Pace for starting this rebuild early. This team is clearly going nowhere this season, and they need to get the most out of their assets while they can. Getting any sort of draft compensation for players who are not going to contribute when the Bears are good, is worth it at this point. Pace will need as many bullets in the draft as he can get to fix this mess.
Trading Allen and Bostic was a great start, but the Bears need to continue trading some of their veteran assets, and I think they will.
The Bears’ roster is not only filled with less than impressive talent, they have a ton of players who do not fit into their current scheme, especially on the defensive side of the ball. In a rebuilding situation, that could lead to an extremely active team on the trade market.
The Bears have some interesting pieces that will intrigue competitive teams as they set up for a potential playoff run. Almost anyone should be up for grabs, but here are six specific players the Bears should be looking to trade.
