After an 0-3 start of their own, the Baltimore Ravens may be hesitant to pull the trigger on a trade like this right now. That being said, Joe Flacco and his squad could easily turn their fortunes around quickly and become strong playoff contenders once again. The Ravens are still a talented team, and should not be counted out.

They do however, clearly have some issues on their roster. Their defensive backfield is a mess, and while their defensive front seven is still good, they are not dominant like usual after a couple of key injuries. Offensively, the running back position is sticking out as an obvious issue, and if they believe in their chances to compete, Forte should be on their radar.

Justin Forsett emerged as an incredibly productive back for the Ravens last season. The journeyman came out of seemingly nowhere to rush for 1,266 yards on 235 carries (an impressive 5.4 yards per carry average).

Forsett looked great last season, but it does not look like his success is going to carry over into 2015. After three games, Forsett only has 124 rushing yards on 39 carries, which averages out to a pitiful 3.2 yards per carry. As of right now, Forsett’s 2014 looks like an anomaly.

Bringing Forte to the Ravens would reunite him with Marc Trestman, as the former Bears’ head coach is now the Ravens’ offensive coordinator. Forte had a lot of success under Trestman in Chicago, particularly as a receiver out of the backfield.

Forte would instantly become the Ravens’ second most dangerous pass receiver, and would have a better chance to be successful in the run game than Forsett. If the Ravens can turn their season around, Forte is a perfect fit for the team.
