May 28, 2015; Philadelphia, PA, USA; Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly answers questions during a press conference at OTA

“GM Chip Needs to Fire Coach Chip.”

Well this is an awkward situation Eagles fans. Your GM is doing a really bad job at giving your head coach the players he needs to succeed. What makes things even worse for Philly fans is that their head coach has alienated and traded away some of the team’s best stars. This entire situation is really no different than the Broncos situation in 2009 with Josh McDaniels when they gave him full control.

It’s easy to have an explosive offense when you have elite talent like Oregon did in the NCAA and like the Eagles did in Kelly’s first year. However, when you start getting rid of talent you can turn a top offense and title contender to a team that looks terrible like the Eagles have looked so far this year.

NFL coaches rarely get to fire GMs, so GM Kelly may have to find a new head coach or step down from his role as Eagles GM. This is the NFL, you’re not in Oregon anymore Chip. In what should be a down year for the NFC East Kelly found a way to turn the Eagles into potentially the worst team in the division. This team probably would have earned an NFC East Title in 2015 with guys like DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy and several other guys who were sent away.
