3. Seahawks are playing on a short week

Playing a game on a short week may not seem like it would affect a team very much, but that is not always the case. Losing that extra day of practice during a week as well as another day to rest the body goes a long way for a NFL player. After analyzing the results of last season’s schedule, teams that played on a short week after a Monday night game went a combined 11-23. Not only that, but teams were outscored 889 to 769 in those contests, which is over a touchdown per game score differential.

With that being said, the great NFL teams are mentally and physically tough and that is exactly what the Seahawks are. There are very few teams in the league that would be 100% after a short week, but I see Seattle as one of those teams. The main thing holding them back is their matched up with one of the best and hottest teams in the NFL at the moment.

As highlighted a few slides ago, the Bengals firepower is just insane. If guys like Richard Sherman or Earl Thomas are even a step behind because of the short week, they will be exposed by Cincinnati’s weapons. Regardless of what day of the week Seattle plays, they’re going to be a tough matchup, but I believe Andy Dalton and the Bengals will come out fresh and take the Seahawks off guard early on.
