“The Chargers host the Steelers on Monday Night”

The San Diego Chargers are most definitely the most immediate threat to the Steelers playoff chances. Not only are they the next game on the schedule, but at 2-2 the Chargers are one spot ahead of Pittsburgh in the playoff race. The Steelers cannot afford to fall to the Chargers this week. An 0-3 start against AFC Opponents would hurt any realistic chances of making the playoffs. This is a type of game the Steelers would win with Roethlisberger, but can they win it with Michael Vick?

The secondary is going to be tested as Rivers leads the league in passing yards and is among the leaders in passer rating and pass TDs. This game is going to be far from easy for the Steelers, but the Chargers do have their flaws. San Diego will get Antonio Gates back this week which should only complicate things for Pitt. Getting pressure on Rivers will be key all day and if the Steelers can pull this win out their playoff hopes look much better.
