The Arizona Cardinals took one on the chin early last week and never fully recovered, dropping a home game to the division rival St. Louis Rams, 24-22. The game had that “it’s-just-one-of-those-games” feel to it, and it indeed was just one of those games from start to finish.

When wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald gets in on the Murphy’s Law action, you know it’s just not your day. Yes, anything that could go wrong for the Cardinals against the Rams did go wrong, but the game was winnable nonetheless.

This week, the Detroit Lions host Arizona as the only winless team in the NFL. They have been close late in every game but have come up short, thus the 0-4 record.

The Cardinals (3-1) have beaten the Lions six straight times dating back to the 2006 season. Five of those contests came at home with the only road game being a 31-24 win in 2009.

For Arizona to stretch their streak to seven consecutive wins over Detroit, a few things must go differently than in last week’s setback. These five players must step up in order to make that happen.
