1) Limit Travis Kelce

One of the few true threats for the Kansas City Chiefs is tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce is second on the team with 328 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He exploded for 106 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Houston Texans but has been rather quiet since.

The Minnesota Vikings cannot simply let him run free, though. The threat of serious production is still there and other teams have done a good job of clamping down on the talented tight end.

Kelce will be entering the game against the Vikings with a neck injury (currently listed as probable) that could help limit him.

Still, the Vikings cannot simply let a linebacker cover him. That’s a mismatch that the Chiefs are going to be looking for. The Vikings may be forced to commit a safety on the tight end, but it should be well worth it if they can keep Kelce below 90 yards receiving and stop him from scoring.

The Chiefs passing offense is not particularly impressive, but having a weapon like Kelce makes every week a lot more dangerous. He’s expected to play on Sunday and the Vikings will have to scheme around him.
