Jets’ Defensive Line vs. Redskins’ Offensive Line

The New York Jets’ defensive line is a formidable group. We knew that going into the season, and they have yet to disappoint. Muhammad Wilkerson leads the group with 21 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Leonard Williams has been as advertised with 18 tackles of his own, and Damon Harrison has added 12. Sheldon Richardson returns this week, although likely in a part-time role as he returns to game shape.

There is a reason why the Redskins have averaged over 121 yards on the ground. Their offensive line is huge, with an average weight of nearly 314 pounds per player. The Jets’ defensive line has its work cut out for it, having to move these big men out of the way.

The game of football is won in the trenches. The Jets will have their work cut out for them to win this one in the trenches.
