This one may be a bit of a stretch, but Patrick Devlin has all the physical tools to be a force in the NFL, despite spending most of his time on various practice squads. Undrafted player out of the University of Delaware, Devlin has never played a snap in the NFL and certainly wouldn’t be an instant answer at quarterback for the Broncos.

Bringing in Devlin would be more of a long-term consideration, with a possibility for him to make an impact near the end of this season if Manning continues to struggle. There’s no better player to learn from than Peyton Manning, and if anyone could help Devlin grow into a starting NFL QB, it would be Manning and Broncos General Manager John Elway.

Devlin has enough arm strength to make all of the necessary throws, and his accuracy and decision-making struggles can be in part attributed to a lack of elite mentoring at the quarterback position. The Broncos could develop Devlin alongside current backup Brock Osweiler, and if Peyton cannot get it done this season they would have two options to look at to replace him.
