Aaron Colvin is probably a player you haven’t heard of. Colvin was one of the top cornerbacks heading into the 2014 draft, but the Oklahoma product tore an ACL in the Senior Bowl. The Jaguars coached the game, and saw enough to take him in the fourth round.
Colvin didn’t play much his rookie season as he was still sidelined with the injury. However, he made his presence felt upon his return. In his second game back, he scooped and scored a touchdown, which gave the Jaguars the lead over the New York Giants. It also happened to be the largest comeback in franchise history.
Flash forward to this season, Colvin has been getting a lot of snaps as the teams nickel back. On Sunday, Colvin sacked and forced a fumble on E.J. Manuel in which Chris Clemons would pick up and score. Colvin also broke up the pass late in the game that would seal a Jags win.
Colvin oddly enough leads the Jaguars in sacks with three. Colvin is still young and will continue to get better. This glimpses and flashes show why he was a projected first round pick coming out.
