Telvin Smith

At 6’3″ and only 223, Telvin Smith isn’t built ideally for the linebacker role. He makes up for his size, with speed and tenacity. Smith is currently third in the league in tackles behind only D’Qwell Jackson and Navorro Bowman.

On Sunday, Smith had his best game of his Jaguars career. Smith intercepted E.J. Manuel and returned it 26 yards to the house. Smith could’ve had another interception later in the game that would have sealed it, but he was unable to haul it in. The second year Florida State linebacker also had a big hit on Shady McCoy behind the line of scrimmage.

Smith is one of the best young linebackers in the game of football right now and you have to wonder how he lasted until round 5.
