Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson hasn’t been a fantasy football asset lately, because after blowing up for ten receptions for 147 yards and a touchdown against the rival Carolina Panthers, the 32-year-old Northern Colorado product has been a non-factor. In fact, Jackson has just one catch for 14 yards and one catch for 13 yards (thanks to the injury) in each of the team’s past two games, respectively, and this is despite the fact that the Bucs put up 31 and 30 in those two contests.

It doesn’t look like Jackson will be able to take advantage of another NFC South rival and have himself a bounce-back game in Week 8, because he is listed as doubtful on the injury report with a knee injury. Per ESPN NFL Nation’s Andrew Astleford (one of the more underrated writers in the biz), Bucs head coach Lovie Smith won’t rule him out. He also isn’t ruling out second-year tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, but, as Smith notes, Jackson’s doubtful listing is slightly more plausible, because veteran players have a better chance of overcoming a lack of practice participation.

That said, doubtful players don’t play, and this is especially true for doubtful players who were never really expected to suit up in the first place.

So if you are one of Jackson’s fantasy owners, here are five players you should consider inserting into your starting lineup or flex spot in his place.
