Telvin Smith, the former fifth round pick from Florida State, is well on his way on becoming a star in this league. Smith is fourth in the NFL in tackles with 75.

Smith’s speed is eye-popping and he’s made about one play a game that’s made you go “wow.” Against the Jets Sunday, Smith read and sniffed out a screen pass and tackled Chris Ivory for a loss. He also forced a fumble on Ivory late in the fourth quarter that, had the Jaguars recovered, would have set them up to win the game with around 2 minutes remaining.

Like the players aforementioned, Smith should continually get better with age and experience. He is already one of the better promising linebackers in the National Football League, which is a scary thought for opposing offenses.
