The Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton continue to have an amazing and unexpected year. Very few pundits expected the Panthers to have much success, let alone start off the year 8-0. That success continues as Cam Newton was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

This is Newton’s fourth time winning the award since joining the NFL back in 2011. This award comes after the Panthers’ 37-29 win over the Green Bay Packers.
Newton ended the day throwing for 297 yards and three touchdowns on 15 completions. However, he wasn’t perfect on the day as he threw one interception. He also added 57 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Newton continues to add to his legacy as one of the best dual threat quarterbacks in the game. He is one of three quarterbacks in NFL history with 15 or more games in which he’s thrown for at least two passing touchdowns while adding in a rushing touchdown. He also holds the record for more rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 14 and most games in NFL history with at least 200 yards passing and 80 yards rushing.

The performance against the Packers was one of Newton’s best in the 2015 campaign. Back in week three he completed 20 of 31 passes for 315 yards and no interceptions; while amassing 33 rushing yards and one touchdown in the 27-22 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Carolina looks to continue the streak as they travel to play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
