1) Captain Munnerlyn, cornerback, Minnesota Vikings
Captain Munnerlyn has been an interesting defensive back to follow through the season for the Minnesota Vikings.
In a secondary filled with big names like Terence Newman, Xavier Rhodes, Harrison Smith, and the young Trae Waynes, Munnerlyn almost seems like an afterthought. Yet he quietly goes about his business each and every week, and Week 11 was one of his better ones.
Munnerlyn’s number kept popping up early in the game as he played tight coverage and made some plays on defense.
He finished the day with three tackles, a tackle for a loss, and a sack. It was a solid performance in a game that saw Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers complete just 47 percent of his throws and rack up just 212 yards.
Munnerlyn passed the eye test on Sunday and deserves to be called out for what as a decent day of coverage overall, even when put in some tougher situations. There are others who disagree, but this game my eyes kept coming back to Munnerlyn as one of the more noticeable players stepping up in this loss.
