Lorenzo Mauldin will record a sack

Lorenzo Mauldin went a bit unnoticed when he was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft. The Jets have been looking for a pass rusher off the edge, but Maudlin didn’t appear at the top of many ists. At Louisville, he posted 21 sacks in three years, to go along with 33.5 tackles for loss. But he was widely considered raw with his skills, and a bit of a project.

He started off strong, but suffered a scary injury that kept him out and slowed his development. Since November 8th, however, Maudlin has come on strong, with three sacks in that stretch. His speed is evident, and he has begun to earn more snaps, and make a weekly impact.

Maudlin is feeling more comfortable as the weeks go by, as he is already coming up with nicknames for himself:

Mauldin is getting better and better, and will post a sack that makes an impact for the New York Jets on Sunday.
