1. Matt Cassel will pass for over 300 yards

Don’t laugh … this is all or nothing for the Cowboys for the remainder of the year, and with the team on the national stage this Monday night, why not go all out with the passing game and see what happens?

Plus, it isn’t like the Redskins defense is like the ’85 Chicago Bears or the ’00 Baltimore Ravens. The ’15 Washington defense allows 24.3 points per game (20th in the NFL) and 366.6 total yards per game, with 240 of those yards being via the pass, so Cassel does have a realistic opportunity to do something special in primetime.

In their past four games, the Redskins allowed the following yardage of QBs they’ve faced:

Eli Manning (Giants): 26-of-52, 321 yards, 2 TDs (Week 12)

Cam Newton (Panthers): 21-of-34, 246 yards, 5 TDs (Week 11)

Drew Brees (Saints): 19-of-28, 209 yards, 2 TDs (Week 10)

Tom Brady (Patriots): 26-of-39, 299 yards, 2 TDs (Week 9)

But, let’s say I’m 180-percent off on this prediction, and Cassel adds to the laughable season that is the offense of the Cowboys. This could be his last start, and “America’s Team” starts a fourth quarterback for the remainder of the season, because if Cassel has another 13-completion game for 93 yards … well, I don’t believe Mr. Jones will take too kindly to seeing that type of play in the final month of the season, out of the playoff race or not.

Remember, Cassel does have one game this season of nearly passing for the 300-yard mark, when he totaled 299 yards against the Eagles on Nov. 8.

On the other hand, he could have the 300 yards in yardage returned from possible interceptions, so would that count?
