Option #1: New York Jets

Unfortunately for Jets fans, I don’t think this option is a very likely one. However, it certainly is enticing to think about, especially when considering neither Ryan Fitzpatrick — meh — nor Geno Smith — even more meh — are capable of leading a team to a Super Bowl.

I’m not saying Fitzpatrick is bad, but quite frankly, Fitzpatrick is a bridge quarterback at best.

Manning signing with Gang Green would give the Jets their first reliable signal caller in a very, very long time, and it would provide MetLife Stadium with two Mannings playing quarterback. The Jets were rumored to have had interest in Manning when he was a free agent, so it’s not too hard to try to connect the dots.

The biggest caveat with this option is money, as the Jets spent a fortune in the offseason rebuilding the secondary, so that would obviously play a role in acquiring Manning.

Manning would probably gel with head coach Todd Bowles, who has a personality similar to Tony Dungy‘s, who of course, was Manning’s head coach for the majority of his tenure in Indianapolis.

The Jets aren’t great, but with that defense, Chris Ivory and Brandon Marshall, they’re probably the most Super Bowl ready team Manning will be able to land with.

You have to admit, it would be pretty sweet to see two more installments of the Brady-Manning saga, especially considering we were unable to see the two legends square off this year.
