Protecting quarterback Jameis Winston has to be towards the top of the priorities for the Bucs in this draft. The being said, with a 26th ranked scoring defense, they have serious needs on the other side of the ball as well.

Offensive tackle, pass rusher and cornerback are the most obvious areas for improvement, and Mackensie Alexander is one of the best remaining players on the board. This feels like a strong fit for the Buccaneers as they look to improve their less than stellar defensive attack.

While Alexander has less than ideal size at 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, he has the natural athletic skills to more than make up for it. With long arms, great speed, strong physical play and elite leaping ability, Alexander is a great man-to-man defender who can certainly hold his own against bigger wide receivers.

The Bucs have serious issues at the cornerback position and need to find someone with the upside to shut down the opposing offense’s best receiver. Alexander is a bit inconsistent and his skills are raw, but his upside and natural ability is undoubtedly elite.
. CB. Clemson. Mackensie Alexander. 1.09. player. 48
