Clemson. Shaq Lawson. 1.10. player. 31. Probably the biggest need on the New York Giants’ roster is on the offensive line. I could certainly see them addressing their issues at tackle here, but unless Stanley or Tunsil fall, the selection would be a reach. Adding to their pass rush by selecting Shaq Lawson brings more overall value to the Giants’ roster.

The best Giants teams in recent history were built on a strong pass rush, and bringing Lawson into the fold would get them back to that direction. Jason Pierre-Paul may not be back next season, which would make the need for Lawson even greater.

The Clemson defensive end is an absolute force on the defensive side of the ball. With a ridiculous combination of power and speed, Lawson is an absolute match-up nightmare who can be almost impossible to block when he is rolling. He is an elite pass rusher from the 4-3 defensive end position, using a wide array of pass rush moves and his great athleticism to consistently get pressure on the quarterback.

With great strength and power coupled with his natural instincts, Lawson is also a strong run defender from the defensive end position. He does a great job of setting the edge on the outside, and can come in and make plays himself against the run.

The Giants’ offensive line is an issue, but the ability to get an elite prospect at another position of need would be too much for the Giants to pass up. Selecting Lawson here is a slam dunk for New York.
. DE
