The Los Angeles Rams and city of Oxnard have come to a tentative agreement for the recently relocated Rams to hold organized team activities and mini-camp at the same area the Dallas Cowboys have called home to off-season activity since 2006.

Though not yet official, the Oxnard City Council is  set to vote on Tuesday, the terms of the deal have the Rams renting the River Ridge fields and adjoining locker room starting April 18 and running through  June 17. The deal, according to Oxnard Assistant City Manager Scott Whitney, will produce $86,000 of unrestricted funds for the city.

This would be the team’s second visit to Oxnard in as many years, having practiced with the Dallas Cowboys last year in a “spirited” get together if you will.

Superintendent Kyle Kanny of the River Ridge Golf Course and his grounds crew take care of the fields, prepping and maintaining them for the Cowboys. Kanny mentioned that the Rams would want the fields in similar conditions for their stay.

The team is also working on a deal currently with the Marriott Residence Inn located near the fields to provide housing and meeting space for players and personnel due to the abnormal circumstance of the franchise’s recent relocation. Players would usually commute to and from their homes for OTA’s, but in light of recent events, most players don’t have housing yet.

The set-up would likely be more or less the same structure as the Cowboys when they’re holding camp in Oxnard. In addition to using the aforementioned fields, locker room and hotel, the team also brings large trailers for equipment and tents for the media and weight room facilities.
