Minnesota Vikings: 5 Bold Predictions for 2016 Free Agency
Vikings sever ties with Mike Wallace
When the Vikings traded for Wallace last offseason, they assumed they were getting a true playmaker on the outside with the speed to score touchdowns early and often. Unfortunately, that wasn’t quite the case as he routinely failed to show up for the Minnesota offense. When the 2015 campaign was finally over, Wallace had compiled 39 catches for 473 yards and two touchdowns–the worth statistical season of his seven-year NFL career.
Seeing as he’s set to make $11.5 million in 2016, Wallace needs to go if that’s the best he has to offer the Vikings. The team would save all of that money by severing ties with the former Pro Bowl receiver, which they could then use to sign another starting-caliber receiver who can actually help Teddy Bridgewater.
Wallace’s time in Minnesota has been an utter disappointment, which is why wasting $11.5 million on him in 2016 shouldn’t be an option.
