Left Tackle: Kelechi Osemele

Believe it not, the Raiders actually got some impressive play out of Donald Penn in 2015. The aging left tackle seemed like a liability heading into the season, but quickly proved doubters wrong with stout blocking in both the passing and running games. Now he’s looking to cash in via free agency, which will likely lead the Raiders to look elsewhere for their starting left tackle as we move into 2016.

Luckily for Oakland, there are a number of capable starters headed for the open market. One of those is Osemele, who seems like the perfect fit for a young, exciting Raiders offense that just needs a couple of key pieces to really take off.

Osemele is an outstanding blindside blocker, possessing impressive athleticism and footwork on the edge to keep his quarterbacks clean. While it’ll cost the Raiders a pretty penny to sign him as well, he offers more long-term potential than Penn and shows a more well-rounded game.

Losing Penn will hurt, but signing Osemele would quickly bring the suffering to an end.
