1. DE Olivier Vernon, New York Giants

The New York Giants needed pass rush help after JPP decided to mess around with some fire works. They decided to acquire that by signing former Miami Dolphin Olivier Vernon to a mega deal. The contract spans five years and is worth up $85 million that already guarantees him $52.5 million.

Vernon is scheduled to make more money then J.J. Watt, but somehow the career numbers don’t add up.

You see the problem here?

The third free agent the Giants massively over paid for, has only managed to earn double digit sacks once during his four-year career. You’re telling me he deserves more money then the back-to-back defensive MVP of the league who has only missed the double digit sack total once in his career, which happened to be his rookie campaign?

I understand nobody deserves to be in the same conversation as Watt, but when you average more money annually, the criticism is going to follow. The Giants are pressing for defensive help, and they are over-paying for it, by a long shot.

The Giants get a big, fat F in my book this off-season, and it will show come the 2016 season.
