Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson of the Jacksonville Jaguars were recently ranked as the number 2 pass-catching duo in the NFL. They should be number 1.
Who is the best pass catching duo in the NFL? Is it Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders of the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos? Is it the newly paired tight end duo of Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett in New England? Or maybe it’s the young duo of Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson of the Jacksonville Jaguars?

For NFL.com media analyst Bucky Brooks, it’s Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker of the New York Jets.
Brooks said in regard to having the Jets at number one,
"“The Jets’ pair accounted for 189 receptions, 2,529 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2015. Most impressively, the tandem combined for 35 receptions of at least 20 yards and 72.3 percent of their receptions resulted in first downs. Those numbers certainly cement their standing as one of the best pass-catching tandems in the NFL, but it’s the potential impact the unit could make this season – with Matt Forte aligned in the backfield – that has led me to tout the Jets’ duo as the cream of the crop.”"
Marshall and Decker make a good case for being the top pass-catching duo. However, it should be the Allen Brothers, Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson.
Going forward, there is no question which duo to take. Eric Decker is 29 years old and Brandon Marshall just turned 32. The two Allens are much younger. Allen Hurns is only 24 years old and Allen Robinson is still just 22 years old.
Brooks said that the Jets’ acquisition of Matt Forte could prove the duo even more dangerous. However, the Jaguars have T.J. Yeldon, who is not a rookie anymore, and the team just recently signed Chris Ivory, who was the AFC’s leading rusher last season. Forte is 30 years old and comes with a lot of wear on his tires.
Who exactly will be throwing to this, “number one” pass-catching duo? Ryan Fitzpatrick is still a free agent and by the looks of it at the moment, the Jets will start Geno Smith come Week 1. Smith has a career 57.9 completion percentage and 27 touchdowns compared to 35 interceptions in three seasons.
Will the team give Bryce Petty a chance? Or maybe it will be a draft pick. Either way expect the duo’s numbers to drop in 2016.
The Jaguars are solidified at the quarterback position with Blake Bortles. Bortles threw for 4,428 yards and 35 touchdowns in 2015. Entering his third season, Bortles is only going to get better. With an improved running game and offensive line, Bortles will have the time and support to throw bombs and dimes to Hurns and Robinson.
For both Hurns and Robinson, being slighted only motivates them even more.

Having combined for over 2,400 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2015, the pass catching duo of Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson will prove why they are the best in the league with more catches, yards, and touchdowns than anyone else.
