Jacksonville Jaguars should draft Myles Jack
By Nick Ziegler
The Jacksonville Jaguars will be selecting fifth in the 2016 NFL Draft, and they will be looking to add an impact player to an improving team.
In 2015, the Jaguars may not have had a great record, but there was an obvious improvement on the team, and especially on the offense side of the ball. Blake Bortles looks like he is going to be the real deal as the future quarterback of the Jaguars, and they also have a dynamic duo at wide receiver in Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns.

The issue for the Jaguars continues to be on the defensive side of the ball, but they have begun to address that the past few years. In the draft last year, the Jaguars selected Dante Fowler Jr., but sadly he tore ligaments in his knee and missed the entire 2015 season. Losing Fowler for the season certainly contributed to the Jaguars allowing 28 points per game, which was the second-most in the NFL.
This offseason, the Jaguars had a lot of money to spend, and they spent it wisely on the defensive side of the ball. The additions of Malik Jackson and Prince Amukamara should help the defense in 2016, but they could still use another talented player to add to the defense.
With the fifth pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Jaguars should draft linebacker Myles Jack. There is no denying that Jack is one of the best defensive prospects in the NFL Draft this year, and with two quarterbacks going back-to-back with the first two picks, the Jaguars will be able to get a talented player with the fifth overall pick.
Jack should be the player that the Jaguars take with the fifth pick, and the brass of the organization seems to be behind that idea.
“We’ve always scheduled that we would do it privately,” Caldwell said to Hays Carlyon of Jacksonville.com. “He looked good. We put him through linebacker drills, change of direction, drops, bag drills.”
“I had a chance to visit with him for quite a while [at UCLA],” Bradley said to Carlyon. “We had some time here and then some time there, so that part was good. Then, we put him through position-specific drills that are really based on our scheme and I thought he did a really good job with that. He’s traveled a lot, so I was really impressed with him.”

Jack made the interesting decision last season to withdraw from school after injuring his knee to focus on rehab and be ready for the NFL Draft. That has proven to be the right decision for Jack, who is likely going to be a Top-5 pick, and certainly won’t fall outside of the Top-10.
In the Jaguars’ 4-3 defense, Jack will be an excellent fit as an outside linebacker as he has the speed and agility to keep up with running backs in the passing game. With Jack’s health seeming to be alright, he is certainly the player that the Jaguars should be drafting to help them make another step forward in 2016.
