Oakland Raiders Fans Respect Chiefs More Than Broncos

How do Oakland Raiders fans feel about their AFC West foes? Which team will be the toughest challenge for the Silver and Black in 2016?

We haven’t reached training camp, and AFC West fan bases have drawn battle lines in the dirt. The Oakland Raiders official Twitter handle and beat writers have upheld and defended their Silver and Black pride before the players take the field.

In May, the Raiders corrected a tweet from the NFL’s official Twitter handle:

Then, the Denver Broncos official Twitter responded in a way that an older, bigger brother laughs at his younger sibling:

The Raiders Twitter handle responded with a short clip focused on defensive end Khalil Mack and linebacker Bruce Irvin practicing their spin moves:

Later in the month, the Mile High Report published a column calling out Raiders fans as “the worst.”

As expected, a quick retort followed. Just Blog Baby editor Chase Ruttig decided to denounce the Silver and Black hatred while looking forward to what’s ahead for the 2016 season.

"The good news for Broncos fans is that there is going to be plenty of things to focus on when they are paying more attention to the Raiders than their own team in 2016 when the Silver and Black return to their rightful place atop the AFC West."

There’s nothing wrong with a little offseason banter. After all, those of us behind computers don’t have to lace up the cleats on Sundays.

However, we’re all entitled to our opinions, and Raiders fans have spoken loud and clear about their division rivals heading into the upcoming season.

Among division foes, Raiders fans respect the Kansas City Chiefs more than the Broncos or San Diego Chargers as formidable opponents in 2016.
