Oakland Raiders Fans Respect Chiefs More Than Broncos
Denver Broncos
The Super Bowl champions didn’t get a lot of love from Raiders fans, accumulating 26 percent in the poll.
Last year, the Broncos beat the Raiders with decrepit Peyton Manning tossing wobbly lobs downfield thanks in large part to the defense.
With wideouts Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, Sanchez will take the field as an upgrade at quarterback. Don’t buy in reports about Trevor Siemian as a legitimate candidate to start the season.
Starting Siemian would almost equate to starting rookie Paxton Lynch, neither have completed an NFL pass.
Together, head coach Gary Kubiak and offensive coordinator Rick Dennison propelled quarterback Matt Schaub and Joe Flacco to career highs in passing yards and touchdown passes. Dennison served as the quarterbacks coach while Kubiak coordinated the offense for the Baltimore Ravens in 2014.
Kubiak and Dennison will continue to work their magic on Sanchez and turn him back into a serviceable starter. He’ll also have a three-man ground attack to lean on with rookie Devontae Booker impressing the coaching staff, per Denver Post reporter Cameron Wolfe.
Raiders fans have highlighted the Broncos’ free agent losses within the front seven, but Denver’s pass rush still deserves respect. Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Malik Jackson logged 5.5 sacks with his former team in 2015.
Although Shaquil Barrett and Shane Ray play linebacker, they combined for 9.5 sacks in the previous season. The Broncos will maintain a strong pass rush with two physical cornerbacks on the perimeter.
