#14. “Revis Island” Darrelle Revis

The 4-time First-Team All-Pro and 7-time Pro Bowler earned the nickname for shutting down the opposing team’s number 1 wide receiver to the point where the wideout feels like he’s “on an island out there”, meaning completely isolated. As of publish, Revis is tied for third most interceptions in New York Jets history, but is by far the leader in passes defended with 106 in a green and white uni.

#13. “Hefty Lefty” aka “Pillsbury Throwboy” Jared Lorenzen

Lorenzen is the all-time passing leader for the Kentucky Wildcats. He signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2004 and became Eli Manning’s backup in 2006. At 6 feet, 4 inches and 320 pounds (on a good day), Jared is definitely the heaviest quarterback to ever play in the NFL. His weight was used to his advantage on short-yardage situations.

#12. “The Law Firm” BenJarvus Green-Ellis

Not sure when BGE’s teammates on the New England Patriots gave him the Law Firm nickname, but the public became aware during a Sunday Night Football game when Al Michaels and John Madden revealed the tidbit on-air in November 2008. Green-Ellis went four seasons with the Pats without fumbling the ball. According to ProFootballTalk, BenJarvus holds the record for longest streak to start an NFL career without fumbling. His best season came with New England in 2010 when he rushed for 1,008 yards and 13 touchdowns, which was second most in the league. His 11 rushing touchdowns the following season was good enough for sixth best league-wide.
