Green Bay Packers: Latest Buzz at Training Camp
By Nick Ziegler
Sharp Rodgers
The Packers decided to hold quarterback Aaron Rodgers out of their first preseason game against the Browns to protect their star. While it isn’t uncommon to see a quarterback sit in the first game of the preseason, it is a bit strange to see them sit in Week 2.
However, that could be the case for Rodgers. With some injuries along the offensive line, the Packers are being careful not to place Rodgers in a situation that could hurt him. With no preseason reps thus far, training camp becomes even more important for Rodgers to get in his rhythm.
On Monday, Rodgers was surprisingly practicing with the scout team. However, he had one of his best practices of the summer so far.
Having Rodgers locked in during camp is a very good thing for the Packers this season. After having a down year for his standards, Rodgers will be looking to rebound in 2016. The organization also appears to be focused on keeping him as healthy as can be heading into the season, which is hard to argue with.
