When it comes to his Fantasy Football value, tight end Coby Fleener is poised for a breakout season thanks to finally having an opportunity to shine as a starter.

This offseason, the New Orleans Saints made quite the acquisition when it came to tight end Coby Fleener. Quarterback Drew Brees has been missing that huge target when it came to his safety net of a reliable tight end. It’s no secret that Brees loves the connection, especially when targeting a tight end in the end-zone for a touchdown.

It’s no secret that Brees has been missing one of his favorite all-time targets in Jimmy Graham who was traded last offseason to the Seattle Seahawks. The Saints knew they needed to add more weapons to his arsenal and found one with potential to truly have a breakout year if everything goes as envisioned.

The best part for fantasy football owners everywhere is the fact that this is the opportunity Fleener has been waiting for in quite some time. He’s always played second-fiddle in his tenure with the Indianapolis Colts, which lasted four seasons. Now he’s a starter on an offense that is known to truly be an aerial assault against opponents.

There is no denying the impact Brees has on offense and even if the Saints plan to have a more balanced attack, expect to see a great rhythm develop between the two. Fleener has such a great skill-set to be a productive starter, that it’s easy to see why he was held back on the Colts. Due to sharing playing time with tight end Dwayne Allen, Fleener was never able to thrive in a full-time spot to showcase his talents.

Fleener’s fantasy value is excellent heading into the upcoming season.

With Brees ready to have a bounce back season with the Saints, he will undoubtedly connect with Fleener early and often in football games.

He’s the perfect sleeper pick in fantasy this season since most owners will opt to get more household names at tight end.

With top fantasy players at the position ranging from Rob Gronkowski, Greg Olsen and Travis Kelce, most won’t believe Fleener can amount to anything major on his new team.

For players like Fleener heading into a new team and situation, it’s the kind of atmosphere where he will truly play his very best football. Not only to prove a point that he’s been shadowing someone else for the majority of his NFL career but to show what he’s capable of being the go-to player at tight end.

Make no mistake about it, Fleener is easily a TE1 and is worthy of a second or third round draft pick. If you want to pair him up with Brees, it would be a great duo to have all season long for the damage they will bring to their opponents.

Overall, Fleener is in a great situation as he debuts with the Saints in 2016. Not only will he have so much to prove to the football world but Brees finally gets an upgrade at the position. For fantasy owners everywhere, enjoy everything Fleener brings to your lineup because he’s going to make big plays, score lots of touchdowns and make you look unstoppable.
