With just 18 days left until the start of the NFL regular season, we will continue our Countdown to Kickoff series. This article will feature No. 18 A.J. Green.

Ladies and gentlemen there are just 18 days left until the NFL regular season kicks off. I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait for the start of the season. The Countdown to Kickoff series has been unbelievable and now it’s time to add one of the more underrated star wide receivers in theleague. Cincinnati Bengals star A.J. Green is the total package and has been one of the most productive and unbelievable players in the league since being drafted fourth overall in 2011.

Green has put the Bengals offense on his back since being drafted and carried them into prominence. He’s coming off an 86 catch, 1,297 yards and 10 touchdown season in which a decent portion of the season he had a backup quarterback throwing him the ball and the team’s secondary target Tyler Eifert sidelined with various injuries.

This was his third double-digit TD season of his five-year career and his 86 receptions is actually the lowest total of catches he’s ever had in a 16-game season. He’s totaled both 97 and 98 catch seasons prior. Green has also never failed to top 1,000 yards, even as a rookie and when he missed three games in 2014. He’s career high is 1,426 yards in 2013.

The former Georgia Bulldog  will look to improve on all his career highs this season in a new-look Bengals offense. Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is off to be the head coach of the Cleveland Browns and his WR2 and WR3 Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu have flew the coup. Many are projecting Green to potentially have a career year as am I. Look for him to tally 100 receptions, 1,500 yards and double-digit TDs in 2016. Green is a monster and there is nothing he doesn’t do well.

Aside from Browns cornerback Joe Haden, Green has no weaknesses. He’s a 6-foot-4 wideout that can run right by you or go up over you and take it away. His route running, hands and athletic gifts are all off the charts. He’s a special receiver and should be ranked among the top five in the game making him an elite top-tier player.

He  has the kind of talent to push himself in the conversation of the greatest Bengals of all-time one day. He’s already among the greatest receivers that have ever graced the tiger striped jersey. He’s entering the realm of Cris Collinsworth, Chad Ochocinco and Carl Pickens. When it’s all said and done, I believe Green will sit on the throne as the greatest Bengal ever.

This will be the year Green truly separates himself as one of the most gifted receivers to step on a football field. He need to put the offense on his shoulder and carry them this season. He will be asked to take on more than he’s ever had to in the past and he will excel like the star he his.
