Sam Bradford Trade Makes Minnesota Vikings Strong Contenders Again

The Minnesota Vikings pulled off a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire Sam Bradford on Saturday, which puts them right back in contention
After losing Teddy Bridgewater for the season with a torn ACL and dislocated knee, the Minnesota Vikings were entering the regular season in a tough position when considering their lack of options at quarterback. Now, it looks like the Vikings will be back on track after acquiring a former No. 1 pick in Sam Bradford.

In what may be the most discussed story heading into Week 1 of the regular season, Minnesota pulled off a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire Bradford to put the offense in better position for their first matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Bradford didn’t hold back when expressing his frustrations over the quarterback situation in Philadelphia after the team used the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on Carson Wentz, but this move still comes as a major surprise. What makes this move even more interesting is the tough position the Vikings may find themselves in down the road if Bridgewater returns to full strength.

Either way, the acquisition of Bradford was huge for Minnesota with the team entering the 2016 season as defending NFC North champions. The Vikings already have one of the league’s top defenses thanks to Mike Zimmer and now that Bradford will be running the offense with Adrian Peterson in the backfield. With the former Eagles quarterback in the fold now, this Vikings team just became strong contenders in the division again.
