Cam Newton Just Passed Steve Young In Record Books (Video)

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton just passed Steve Young in two statistical categories with his latest touchdown run on Thursday Night Football
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is a bad man. He has already proven this fact by winning a Heisman Trophy during his collegiate career as well as winning the NFL MVP in 2015.
On Thursday Night Football he made his legend grow even more by surpassing one of the greatest dual-threat quarterbacks of all-time in two statistical areas. In the first quarter he hit receiver Kelvin Benjamin for a touchdown pass. Late in the second quarter Newton took off for a two-yard touchdown run, which happened to be the 32nd time Newton had a touchdown through the air as well as on the ground.
He surpassed Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young with the run. Young managed to accomplish the feat 31 times during his 15-year career. For some perspective, Newton is just 27-years old and in his fifth NFL season.

It also happened to be the 44th career rushing touchdown for Newton. As fate would have it, this too is a new record for quarterbacks. Again, Newton surpassed the former-49ers great who had 43 rushing touchdowns in his career.
Cam Newton has already set the #NFL record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, passing Hall of Famer Steve Young with his 44th.

Newton and the Panthers are putting on a clinic in Denver right now as they look focused on getting revenge for a 24-10 Super Bowl loss back in February at the hands of the Broncos.
After a 44-yard Graham Gano field goal to end the half, Carolina is leading the defending champs by a score of 17-7.
